On 8 November, the Colin Currie Group is joined by Steve Reich for its debut at Cambridge Music Festival with a performance featuring Music for 18 Musicians.

Prior to the concert, Reich joins Colin Currie for a pre-performance talk at The Guildhall in Cambridge featuring discussion and performance of Reich’s music. Reich then joins Currie to open the concert, at Cambridge Corn Exchange, with Clapping Music. The full programme includes Music for Pieces of WoodMallet Quartet and Steve Reich’s seminal piece Music for 18 Musicians.

Later on in the 2016/17 season, the group return to the Southbank Centre and Tokyo Opera City Concert Hall for performances of Tehillim and will give two concerts at the new Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg. The group just had its debut in Macau at the Macau International Music Festival at the beginning of October with a performance sold out months in advance.
