On Saturday 4 July, Colin and the Colin Currie Group return to Peckham’s iconic rooftop car park for another appearance at Bold Tendencies, following the success of their Reich Repetitions programme last year.

This Friday 17 April, the Colin Currie Group return to London’s Kings Place to perform an all-Steve Martland programme as part of the venue’s wider tribute to the composer across their season.

On Saturday 12 July, Colin Currie Group return to London with a performance at Bold Tendencies. Taking place in the open-air setting of Peckham’s iconic rooftop car park, the event forms part of the venue’s ‘Déjà vu’ themed summer, and marks a major highlight in the group’s season.

Today, Wednesday 28 May, we’ve launched our next Kickstarter campaign with the aim of raising £15,000 ($20,000 USD) to bring Steve Reich’s brilliant sextets together on record for the very first time.

The Colin Currie Group release two Spatial Audio remasters of their most significant early Steve Reich recordings on Colin Currie Records in the coming weeks, ahead of Reich’s 90th birthday in 2026. The first will be Drumming, released on Friday 7 March, and then Colin Currie & Steve Reich Live at Fondation Louis Vuitton on Friday 11 April.

Back in 2017, Steve Reich invited the Colin Currie Group to perform in Paris as part of his “Being Modern: the MoMA in Paris” exhibition at the prestigious Fondation Louis Vuitton. The concert was filmed for Medici TV, who have now re-released the film in celebration of Steve Reich’s birthday this weekend.

On 28 March, the Colin Currie Group returns to the Southbank Centre to perform the UK premiere of Mark-Anthony Turnage New England Etudes, co-commissioned by Colin Currie. This programme will also feature Steve Reich Music for Pieces of Wood and Julia Wolfe Dark Full Ride.

Last month, The Colin Currie Group performed at the renowned Festival Présences at Radio France, Paris.

This Spring, the Colin Currie Group returns to Japan, performing concerts at Tokyo Opera City and the Nagakute Cultural Center. In continuation of the group’s long standing relationship with Tokyo Opera City, who also co-commissioned Traveler’s Prayer, these concerts are held in the prestigious Takemitsu Memorial Hall on the 21st and 22nd April.

On 21st April, the Colin Currie Group will release their album Steve Reich’s Music for 18 Musicians.

On 16th November, the Colin Currie Group will come together at Abbey Road Studios in London to record Steve Reich’s Music for 18 Musicians, one of the composer’s most steadfast and redefining works.

After their very well-received performance of Xenakis at the Southbank centre last month, which was praised by Bachtrack as “an experience of overwhelming proportions that will leave an indelible mark of pure joy on the sizeable crowd which sat enraptured in the Queen Elizabeth Hall”, the Colin Currie Group embark on a series of concerts in the US, in celebration of Steve Reich.

Colin returns to London’s Southbank Centre where he continues his long-standing programme of events as Artist-in-Association.

December the 3rd 2021 marks the 50th anniversary of the World Premiere of ‘Drumming’ by Steve Reich – in the composer’s 85th year and marking 15 whole years of my ensemble, Colin Currie Group, which was founded initially in order to perform that exact work.

On November 6th, the Colin Currie Group ends their European tour with a performance at the Philharmonie de Paris. Along with their long-standing collaborators Synergy Vocals, the group will be performing a program of Steve Reich’s music, including Traveler’s Prayer, Tehillim and Music for 18 Musicians.

Our highly treasured world premiere by Steve Reich, ‘Traveler’s Prayer’ has finally come into this world, in concert at Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw and London’s Royal Festival Hall, to wrapt and enthused capacity audiences. We are elated!
