In May of this year, our ensemble will once again have the honour of performing Steve Reich’s Music for 18 Musicians. For many of us, and for a large number of Reich’s fans, this is the sacred centre piece of his unique musical grail.

Colin Currie Group will perform Reich’s Tehillim during the 2016/17 season at Tokyo Opera City Concert Hall on 1 and 2 March 2017, and at the Royal Festival Hall at the Southbank Centre, London, on 5 May. For all three concerts the group is joined by Synergy Vocals.

This season, Colin Currie Group makes a return to Southbank Centre to perform Steve Reich’s Music for 18 Musicians, before travelling to Rotterdam for two further performances.

The Colin Currie Group made their debut at the Helsinki Festival on the 19 August 2015 with an all-Reich programme, collaborating with Avanti! Chamber Orchestra on Radio Rewrite and with Steve Reich himself on Clapping Music.

The Colin Currie Group returns to Dublin this month to open the 2015 KBC Great Music in Irish Houses Festival. On this occasion, the group will perform four scores by Steve Reich, including, once again, an Irish première – a new Reich work, Quartet, written specially for Colin and the musicians.

Colin has been awarded the RPS Instrumentalist Award for achievement in the UK during 2014.

After a successful tour of the Netherlands earlier in April, the Colin Currie Group returns to the UK for three concerts of music by Steve Reich.

Colin and the Group embark on a five-date tour of the Netherlands in April 2015. The tour opens at De Doelen (pictured), Rotterdam, where Colin is artist in residence.
