The Colin Currie Group enticed Queen Elizabeth Hall at the Southbank centre earlier this month with their performance of works by Xenakis alongside the JACK Quartet, which was met with praise by the press. The musicians garnered several fine reviews from various sources.

Foundation Louis Vuitton will re-broadcast a concert performance by Colin Currie Group of seminal Steve Reich works on Friday 10 April, filmed and recorded live in December 2017.

Colin Currie Group performed four sold-out performances of Reich’s Drumming at the Southbank Centre’s Hayward Gallery on 6 and 7 December 2019. The Telegraph gave the performance a well-deserved five-stars.

The Journal of Music reviewed Colin Currie Quartet’s recent performance at Great Music in Irish Houses Festival where they gave the Irish premiere of Kevin Volans’ 4 Marimbas as well as  performances of Xenakis’ Rebonds B, Stockhausen’s Vibra-Elufa and Joseph Pereira’s Mallet Quartet.

The Colin Currie Quartet began their summer festival season this month with a performance at the Norfolk and Norwich Festival on 20 May 2019.

The Boston Globe named Drumming as one of their top 11 classical albums of 2018.

The Colin Currie Quartet was formed in 2018 by Colin Currie to present the diverse works written for percussion quartet. The group is made up of Colin Currie, Owen Gunnell, Adrian Spillett and Sam Walton, who form the core of the Colin Currie Group.

Colin Currie Group performed at the BBC Proms on 15 July as part of a celebration to mark 40 years of the BBC Young Musician of the Year competition.

The reviews are in for Colin Currie Group’s debut recording, Drumming, released on 9 March, including a fantastic five stars from the Times and Editor’s Choice in Gramophone.

Colin Currie Group’s performances in early December at the Louis Vuitton Fondation, described as “exhilarating and contrasting” by Musikzen, are available to watch online for free on Arte.tv.

The Colin Currie Group has received fantastic reviews for concerts at London’s Royal Festival Hall and Hamburg’s Elbphilharmonie.

The group’s 2016/17 season includes a sold out concert in Macau, Reich 80th birthday celebrations, returns to Tokyo and London, and new repertoire: Tehillim.

This season, Colin Currie Group makes a return to Southbank Centre to perform Steve Reich’s Music for 18 Musicians, before travelling to Rotterdam for two further performances.

The Colin Currie Group made their debut at the Helsinki Festival on the 19 August 2015 with an all-Reich programme, collaborating with Avanti! Chamber Orchestra on Radio Rewrite and with Steve Reich himself on Clapping Music.

Colin has been awarded the RPS Instrumentalist Award for achievement in the UK during 2014.

Colin and the ensemble travelled to Belgium this week for a concert at the Handelsbeurs Concertzaal in Gent (21 January).
