On November 6th, the Colin Currie Group ends their European tour with a performance at the Philharmonie de Paris. Along with their long-standing collaborators Synergy Vocals, the group will be performing a program of Steve Reich’s music, including Traveler’s Prayer, Tehillim and Music for 18 Musicians.

Our highly treasured world premiere by Steve Reich, ‘Traveler’s Prayer’ has finally come into this world, in concert at Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw and London’s Royal Festival Hall, to wrapt and enthused capacity audiences. We are elated!

This Sunday, October 3rd, marks an extraordinary anniversary for one of music’s greatest pioneers – the 85th birthday of Steve Reich. Of the many causes for celebration on this day, I would perhaps say that his current and tireless musical trajectory is foremost.

This October, the Colin Currie Group and long-standing collaborators Synergy Vocals embark on one of their most exciting projects to date: a European tour for the world premiere of the new Steve Reich piece Traveler’s Prayer.

Colin Currie Group return to the Southbank Centre on 3 July 2021 to perform Steve Reich’s captivating Music for 18 Musicians.

Colin spoke to Josh Quillen from Sō Percussion about Steve Reich’s Drumming, which is central to Colin Currie Group’s repertoire.

Colin Currie Quartet will appear in the Polyphonic Concert Club: a series of six online chamber performances, also featuring Jennifer Pike, I Fagiolini, Red Priest, Castalian String Quartet and Isata Kenneh-Mason.

Colin Currie Quartet were due to start the year in Hong Kong, however due to ongoing restrictions, the quartet presented a pre-recorded performance in place of a live concert on 7 January.

Foundation Louis Vuitton will re-broadcast a concert performance by Colin Currie Group of seminal Steve Reich works on Friday 10 April, filmed and recorded live in December 2017.

Southbank Centre’s Associate Artist, Colin Currie, will lead the Colin Currie Group in three mesmerising works by Steve Reich on 10 April in a “Reich Reborn“ concert as part of the International Chamber Music Series at the Southbank Centre.

Released on Colin Currie Records in April 2019, ‘Colin Currie & Steve Reich Live at Foundation Louis Vuitton’ has been named one of Gramophone’s favourite classical albums of the year.

Colin Currie Group performed four sold-out performances of Reich’s Drumming at the Southbank Centre’s Hayward Gallery on 6 and 7 December 2019. The Telegraph gave the performance a well-deserved five-stars.

Gubaidulina Glorious Percussion at Edinburgh Festival

The Colin Currie Group will open the 2019/20 season with their debut at Edinburgh International Festival, where they will give their first performance of Gubaidulina Glorious Percussion.

The Colin Currie Group make their debut at the Shanghai MISA Festival this July. Their performance at the Shanghai Symphony Hall on 10 July will see them play Steve Reich’s Music for Pieces of Wood, Pulse and Music for 18 Musicians along with Synergy Vocals.

The Journal of Music reviewed Colin Currie Quartet’s recent performance at Great Music in Irish Houses Festival where they gave the Irish premiere of Kevin Volans’ 4 Marimbas as well as  performances of Xenakis’ Rebonds B, Stockhausen’s Vibra-Elufa and Joseph Pereira’s Mallet Quartet.
