Colin Currie Group’s World Premiere Recording of Steve Reich’s Quartet will be released by Nonesuch on 2 February 2018. The recording will be available on CD, vinyl, digital download and streaming services. Also featured on the release is Reich’s Pulse, performed by the International Contemporary Ensemble.

Colin Currie Group’s performances in early December at the Louis Vuitton Fondation, described as “exhilarating and contrasting” by Musikzen, are available to watch online for free on Arte.tv.

The Colin Currie Group has received fantastic reviews for concerts at London’s Royal Festival Hall and Hamburg’s Elbphilharmonie.

Following their concert at London’s Royal Festival Hall and their recording of Drumming, Colin Currie Group travel to Hamburg to make their debut in the opening season of Hamburg’s Elbphilharmonie with two sold-out performances of music by Steve Reich on 11 and 12 May.

The Colin Currie Group returns to the Royal Festival Hall on 5 May as part of the Southbank Centre’s International Chamber Music Series 2016/17.

Today, 22 March 2017, the Colin Currie Group launches its first ever crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter to raise money to record Steve Reich’s Drumming. Reich himself said, at the group’s Tokyo concerts in March 2017, that “it will be, I am sure, the best recording of Drumming ever made”.

The Colin Currie Group tours to Tokyo at the beginning of March for their first ever performances of Reich’s Tehillim at Tokyo Opera City.

“It is a great honour and a long-held ambition of the group to add Tehillim to our repertoire. This work stands out amongst Reich’s many notable masterpieces, as arguably his most melodic music, and we are delighted to be joined by our artistic partners at Synergy Vocals for the solo voices.”

On 19 November members of the Colin Currie Group will lead a Reich Day at Wells Cathedral School’s Cedars Hall as part of the new hall’s opening season programme.

On 8 November, the Colin Currie Group is joined by Steve Reich for its debut at Cambridge Music Festival with a performance featuring Music for 18 Musicians. 

Colin Currie Group debuts at the 30th Macau International Music Festival on 7 October 2016, performing music by Steve Reich in the same week as the composer’s 80th birthday.

The group’s 2016/17 season includes a sold out concert in Macau, Reich 80th birthday celebrations, returns to Tokyo and London, and new repertoire: Tehillim.

After sell-out concerts at London’s Southbank Centre and at Rotterdam’s Laurenskerk, the Colin Currie Group headed into the studio to record Steve Reich’s Quartet for two pianos and two vibraphones. They were joined by Reich himself in the studio – see photos of the day below.

After a standing ovation at the Royal Festival Hall on Tuesday 24 May, the Colin Currie Group now heads to Rotterdam for two more performances of Reich’s Music for 18 Musicians on 26 May.
